Bulgoggi is, perhaps, the national dish of Korea & was originally prepared for the Kings & Royal Families of the Chosun Dynasty. Bulgoggi literally means "fire" (Bul) and "meat"(goggi). This refers to the cooking technique - simmered over an open flame.
